Renaissance Hotel – El Prat de Llobregat, Spain
We chose to stay at the Renaissance Hotel in Llobregat because it is near the Barcelona airport and we had an early connection the next morning. The hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the airport so it was the best option that we could find in terms of availability and services. There are other hotels with an airport shuttle, but they didn’t have the date we needed available.
Room
We got a room with a king size bed. The room featured a flat screen TV, although it had some issues, as the main menu page was scrambled. It had a mini fridge, a nice desk area, and some small drawers. The closet had a safe.
The floors were wood, which I really liked because hotel carpeting always seems to be dirty. The room was very clean and had one of those devices where you had to use your room key to turn on the lights, AC, etc.
Bathroom
The bathroom was very large featuring stainless steal double sinks, a glass vanity and marble floors and tile around the tub. It also had a bidet. The shower was unique in that it had a handheld showerhead and a half glass for the actual shower. While unique, it was still challenging to keep water from spraying all over the bathroom because the clasp for the showerhead was loose and wouldn’t hold it in place very well. However, the power of the showerhead definitely made up for that.
Amenities
The hotel was wireless Internet. There are three options, €3.66 an hour, €11.99 per day or €16.99 for 48 hours. This information actually conflicted with what I read online and the lady that checked us in didn’t even know about the daily rate, she told us it was only hourly. We were glad to discover otherwise when we went to get online.
The hotel also featured an outdoor pool, but it does not open until June. The hotel also has a fitness center and 2 paddle courts according to the website. The courts are €20 an hour.
Additional Comments
The hotel is located in a rather industrial area. There’s not a whole lot in the area, so you are pretty much stuck with the eating options they have available. They have the Alabastro Bar that services drinks, appetizers and meals for lunch and dinner. They also have a restaurant with a breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner as well. There’s a snack bar in the main lobby. They had complimentary coffee in the lobby during the day also. The prices are not extraordinarily high, but they are definitely hotel prices.
