Jardin Canario – Las Palmas, Gran Canaria

The Jardin Canario is another free sight and must do in Las Palmas. Although rather tricky to find, we were very happy that we visited. This is a huge garden complex that features an entire cactus garden, palm tree garden and much more.

This is the perfect place to pack a lunch and then just spend the day exploring the various different pathways, taking in the flora and just enjoying the outdoors. This may very well be the most beautiful place in Las Palmas, a city that was largely built for function rather than architectural beauty.

The gardens open each day at 9 and close each day 6. However, we discovered that you are free to wonder well after 6. I think you really just have to exit before it is dark outside. There are many wide-open spaces for children to play, but there are also plenty of unique plants for everyone to enjoy. Definitely bring a camera and take pictures of all the different plants, especially the crazy cacti. You could easily spend a day here enjoying the outdoors and exploring all of the little pathways this park has to offer.
