When the restaurant at the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier was closing, they suggested the 15th St. Raw Bar & Grill across the street. So, we headed over there to see what they had to offer.

We sat outside on the deck area. One end was a bar and the rest was seating areas. The décor seemed to have seen better days, but the atmosphere was fun and laid back. We never went inside the actual restaurant, but from the doorway it had a sports bar type feel to it. I actually saw someone ride their bicycle inside – not sure what that was about.

My husband had a bowl of clam chowder, which he really liked. The server said that she really liked it and doesn’t typically care for clam chowder, so he was sold on it then. He had buffalo wings with it as well.

I ordered fried shrimp with onion rings and a baked potato. The onion rings were a little overcooked, but the potato and the shrimp were good.

The service was a little on the slow side. It seemed we waited for quite awhile on drinks and our food.

Our experience wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything special either. I would probably eat there again, but it wouldn’t necessarily be my first choice.
